COVID prompts updated air systems

Taking advantage of Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding provided as COVID-19 relief, North East ISD embarked on a transformative venture focused on revitalizing the cooling system at Madison High School. Marksmen GC proudly undertook the $3,424,000 quick turn-around project.

The intricate scope encompassed the replacement of chillers, necessitating a comprehensive approach that included the demolition of existing hydronic piping and pumps. Our dedicated team seamlessly executed the installation of hydronic piping, new pumps, and modern chillers, breathing new life into the heart of Madison High School's cooling infrastructure. The district purchased the chillers and switchgear, which kept the construction contract cost lower, however; it did result in delivery delays that stalled the project for nearly a year.

The original schedule called for construction to take place in the summer of 2022. Due to equipment lead times, the project was prepped in 2022 but construction took place in the summer of 2023. This endeavor not only exemplified our commitment to precision and innovation but also underscored our passion for enhancing educational environments through top-tier construction solutions. Our team worked closely with North East ISD to coordinate delivery of the new chillers and switchgear to complete the project on time.
