Jace values the relationships he builds with his coworkers at Marksmen. He found his most memorable project so far to be the Comal ISD Building Renovations, which stood out for its complexity and unique challenges. Jace encourages newcomers to construction to stay open-minded and absorb as much information as possible.
James enjoys the process of learning and problem-solving, finding satisfaction in bringing work to life and showcasing the finished product. His favorite part of working at Marksmen is collaborating with his team on-site. The Fire Station 121 project stands out as his most memorable, as it was his first major project where he gained significant technical experience. His advice for those starting in construction is to ask questions and take initiative to grow. James stays motivated by tackling challenges head-on and knowing he can rely on his team to solve problems together.
Mark’s natural inclination for working with his hands and a love for tangible tasks inspired his career in construction. He thrives on the quality of people and the unity within the Marksmen team. One of his most memorable projects was the six-year-long Roosevelt High School Complete Rebuild, which helped him grow the most in financial, schedule, project management, and people management skills. Mark advises those starting out in construction to remember that experience and wisdom cannot be rushed. It's a demanding job that requires commitment and an understanding that soft skills develop over time. He believes the work is incredibly rewarding, providing tangible affirmations and pride in accomplishments. For him, staying focused during challenging projects comes down to problem-solving, communication, and innate diligence and resilience. Mark stresses that knowing yourself is essential for success in this industry and values the collaboration and teamwork that help maintain focus.

Marksmen General Contractors offers a paid internship program for high school and college students interested in a career in commercial construction. Our internships take an all-encompassing approach that lets you gain experience in all aspects of commercial construction from estimating to supervision to project management and even business development.
