Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the Superintendent with the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are met. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will work closely with the Superintendent and the rest of the project team to assist in multiple aspects of the construction process, from layout and verification to site management and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety First! Conduct regular safety inspections, assist with safety orientations, and ensure safety protocols are followed on-site.
- Layout/set in wall blocking.
- Assist in building layout and provide support in verifying completed work.
- Help in the creation and management of prepunch and punchlists.
- Gather relevant information for Daily Logs and assist with their documentation.
- Participate in conducting Weekly Safety Inspections and engage in Weekly Subcontractor and Internal Project Meetings.
- Manage day laborers and hourly resources as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Assist in dewatering the site as necessary to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Perform light concrete work, drywall, and tape/float/paint as assigned.
- Site management, sanitation, and maintenance duties.
- Help maintain and document SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) compliance.
- Capture and maintain photo documentation of the project’s progress.
- Participate in mentorship activities and build Test Project schedules as part of individual development.
- Assist in securing buildings and sites as needed.
- Gain experience in various building systems, including HVAC, low voltage, lighting, and security systems. Participate in superintendents’ meetings.
- Conduct employee safety orientations.
- Participate/engage in Concrete Prepour Inspections.
- Participate/engage in Basic ADA Inspections.
- Carrying out objectives of the superintendent.
